Day 303- Putting Together the Pieces

I'm going to tell you a secret, but only because I want to tell you about today's encounter. One of the most opportune places to share the gospel is in the back of restaurants and bars. This is where the kitchen workers, servers, and cooks go for a smoke break. Your dining experience is not complete just because you witnessed to your server. On your way to the car, stop by the back of the restaurant and witness to the cook! This is where I met Sarah. I gave her a gospel tract and then asked her what I thought was a pretty simple question. I wanted to know how to get to heaven. She took a deep breath and said, "You have to do what's right and believe in god. My mother is a Jehovah's Witness and her beliefs are very similar, but a little different. She believes that 144,000 will get to heaven. I believe that if you do good things and love your neighbor, then god will forgive you. I am a good person, but all have sinned. If it wasn't for Jeus, we would all be in trouble." Did you get that? She started with just believe, told me about what her mom believes, gave works based answers, told me she was a sinner, then mentions the Savior. All in one breath! My first thought was where do I begin, but the answer is simple. Start by using the Ten Commandments (the bad news) then tell her about the death, burial and resurrection of Christ (the good news). Sure she knew that she was a sinner, she even knew about Jesus, but sometimes you just have to put together all of the pieces.
