Day 16- The Donut Shop

This morning I prayed specifically for an opportunity to share with an individual whom I knew I would be working with today. Rex is a Mormon and we have talked a great deal about our faiths in the past and it has not always gone well. Many times we both choose to small talk to avoid confrontation. Over breakfast this morning, Rex asked to hear my testimony. My jaw dropped, but I played it cool. I could count on one hand the amount of people who have actually brought up a spiritual conversation with me. A testimony is a terrific way to share the gospel. In the past, my testimony used to focus on how bad I used to be and all of the things I used to do before I believed. A usual response used to be, "Wow, you really needed God! I'm not near that bad." Today, my testimony involves little of me and my selfish acts and much of Christ and Him crucified. I have fallen short, but while I was yet a sinner Christ died for me. I was dead in my trespasses, but He paid my fine. My heart is deceitfully wicked, but He has risen and is sitting at the right hand of God interceding for all who place their trust in Him. Although it is rare that a nonbeliever asks to hear my testimony, I thank God for 30 second testimonies loaded with the gospel truth.
