After sharing the gospel, I often wonder if the person that I am witnessing to understands what I am saying. I often will ask, "Do you understand what I am saying?" My wife has informed me that people will always say yes to avoid the impression of ignorance. Therefore, today I tried something a little different. I call it 'fill in the blank' witnessing. After sharing the gospel with Tim I said, "Jesus died because…" Tim then responded with his answer. I then said, "God will not allow sin in to heaven because…." Tim finished my sentence. I concluded with "To receive eternal life you must….." Tim answered. Try this the next time you are talking to someone with glazed eyes. I bet you would be surprised how much they actually retained.
