Day 39- Church Drop-Out

For the second day in a row I have witnessed to someone who grew up in the church. David, on his break outside of a Wal-Mart, commented that he stopped going to church not because his spiritual beliefs have changed, but because his lifestyle conflicted with other church goers. I thanked him for his honesty and then asked if him if he knew what the Bible says about life after death. He did not, so I walked him through the ten commandments. Afterward, I informed him about the two reasons why people place their trust in Christ. I told him about those who will try on Jesus for a life enhancement, and others who live for Jesus because they know He is the only one who will save them from God's wrath. When those who profess Christ for a more fulfilled life experience the three things that the Bible promises, trials, tribulations, and persecution, they will cast Him off as quickly as they tried Him on. To them, Jesus did not meet their expectations. I told him that he must place his trust in Christ like he would put his trust in a parachute, as if it is the only thing that can save Him. David commented at the end of our conversation that he has been thinking about spiritual things a lot these last few days and that he would think about what we had discussed.
