Day 84- The Buddhist From Equador

I was picking up dinner today when I saw a man smoking a cigarette at a used car dealership. I skipped on over and asked the man if he worked at the dealership. He told me that he works there part-time but if I needed assistance I had to go inside. I pulled out of my back pocket a pack of million dollar bills. I could tell that he thought I had real bills when his jaw dropped. I handed him a tract and asked about his church background. Edwardo had grown up Catholic but is now a Buddhist. I asked Edwardo if he believed that sin exists, and he brought up the law of cause and effect. He said that doing bad things will create bad energy. He then proceeded to tell me more about Buddhism and how he felt too much guilt growing up Catholic. He told me that it feels much more natural to be a Buddhist where he can make his own decisions. After I had listened patiently, it was then my turn. I told Edwardo that the first Buddha had been buried and is dead. Jesus is the only one that has defeated death. I told him that Jesus is now sitting at the right hand of the Father and interceding for those who are trusting in Him. I looked Edwardo in the eyes and informed him that he has removed God from His throne and placed himself to sit, which is a very dangerous position. I stressed that he must turn to Jesus for the forgiveness of his sins. Edwardo's reply, "I'm just not feeling like that is something that I need to do." My reply, "Edwardo, God has given you a conscience and I pray that you have not singed it beyond repair." His phone began ringing so I shook his hand and we parted ways.
